Ooty or Udhagamandalam is the "Queen of hill stations" and is one of the most popular tourist spots in India. As the land of the blue Mountains (Nilgiris) it is a land of beauty with picturesque locales. Ooty was once the popular summer and weekend getaway for the British during the colonial days. Situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level, Ooty has the added attraction for the tourists, the mountain train journey on a ratchet and pinion track which commences from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and wends its way through many hair-raising curves and fearful tunnels and chugs along through the deep ravines full of verdant vegetation, gurgling streams and tea gardens. The annual Tea and Tourism Festival attracts tourists in huge numbers.
The Lake, Botanical Gardens, Dodabetta etc are some of the unforgettable experiences in Ooty.


Mysore, the capital city of the Wadiar kings lies 140 kms from Bangalore. The magnificent palaces, beautifully laid-out gardens, rich heritage, imposing buildings, broad shady avenues and sacred temples lend a quaint old world charm to Mysore. Munnar Once the summer resort of the British is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. The highest peak in South India Anamudi, lies in Munnar and is an ideal spot for trekking. Green tea plantations, quaint towns, winding lanes make Munnar an ideal spot for a holiday. Mattupetty Lake and Dam is a beautiful picnic spot with boating facilities available in the reservoir. The Indo-Swiss Live Stock project, a specialized dairy farm was established in Munnar. The Eravikulam National Park & Rajamala, the natural habitat of Nilgiri Tahr are also one of the many attractions in Munnar.


The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary on the banks of the artificial lake, Periyar lake is located in Thekkady. Dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and stretches of grass lands make it a home for diverse plant and animal life. Wildlife sightings of herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs can be had during the boat cruise in the lake. Elephant rides, cruises on the lake and treks to the ruined Mangala Devi temple are the major attractions of Thekkady.


Hogenakkal in the Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts in Tamilnadu is famous for its Waterfalls often referred to as "Cauvery" or "Kavery" in South India. Hogenakkal is also described as the 'Niagara' of India, offer an exciting holiday destination for Indians and foreigners alike. Hogenakkal at a height of 750 feet above sea level amidst the Melagiri Hills has an abundance of vegetation. The route to Hogenakkal Falls enthralls you with lush mulberry fields and giant terracotta guardian deities (Aiyanars). As you come near Hogenakkal, the roar of the Cauvery river welcomes you.


One of the most popular hill resorts in India, Kodaikanal is a fascinating hill station which stands amidst sylvan beauty on the southern crest of the upper Palani Hills near Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal with its rolling mountains, greenery, lake and spice laden air, is an ideal hill resort for the tourists. Kodai charms any visitor and is frequented all through the year. The unique flowering plant 'Kurunji'(Strobilanthus Kunthanus) that blooms once in 12 years is found in plenty in Kodaikanal. Berijam lake spread over an area of 24 hectares is one of the most beautiful lakes of South India is a major attraction in Kodaikanal.


Coorg or Kodagu (originally called Kodaimalenadu) means 'dense forest on steep hill' is dubbed as the Scotland of India. At an altitude of 1525 m above sea level, Coorg is one of the most beautiful hill stations with its Misty hills, lush forest, acres and acres of tea and coffee plantation, orange groves, undulating streets and breathtaking views.
Coorg is on the Western Ghats is also an unforgettable holiday destination. Lying on Karnataka's southwestern end, the river Cauvery originates here at Talacauvery and is worshipped by the locals.

Coorg is ideal for trekking expeditions with verdant routes in the midst of forests and hills, and it's best to go in the months from October to February. Valanoor, the backwater of the river Cauvery draws fishing lovers from all over India. The Upper Barapole River to the south of Coorg is a good place to go hurtling down the waters of Cauvery for white water rafting.
